Job Context

  • Contract Duration: 6 months (extendable)
  • Duty Station: Teknaf and Ukhiya in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh
Job Description / Responsibility
  • JOB PURPOSE: To coordinate and perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive):
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of WFP food assistance to refugees from Myanmar living in Kutupalong and Nayapara refugee camps and makeshift camps, Work closely with beneficiaries (including women and refugees from Myanmar) to monitor programs and understand the context of WFP assistance, and receive their grievances, if any.
  • Prepare detailed monitoring plans and reports based on past reports and designed to find information which improves the results of WFP assistance
  • Prepare qualitative and quantitative reports based on field monitoring findings, including recommended follow-up actions to ensure program goals are achieved, share with cooperating partners and WFP SPA and ensure follow-up actions are completed on a timely basis
  • Identify risks to programs, and conduct monitoring and reporting on mitigation measures
  • Monitor and review overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport and distribution, verify if amounts received have been properly recorded
  • Supervise the distribution of entitlements, and provide feedback to Field Officers and others on the distribution
  • Assist if the conduct of regular meeting of beneficiaries, project participants, community and refugee leaders and partners (Government, NGO and private traders) on the commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant program issues
  • Assist the WFP SPA and cooperating partners in encouraging women’s access to economic skills development and sensitizing public opinion on gender issues and gender focused activities
  • Identify and report to the supervisors on relevant events/issues regarding food management, distribution and other related issues
  • Supervise and train other personnel as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as required
Job Nature

Educational Requirements
Higher Secondary Education. Preferably University degree and/or equivalent with emphasis in one or more of the following disciplines: social sciences, nutrition, international relations or other related field.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 4 year(s)
Job Requirements
  • At least four years of progressively responsible work experience including at least two years in the field of community and/or international development, emergency operations, disaster preparedness, cash and voucher programming or other related field. Experience in gender, nutrition, food security, protection, livelihoods and/or disaster preparedness is highly desirable.
  • Nationality: Bangladeshi only
