  • Introduction:Unite for Body Rights-UBR is an allianceof nine Bangladeshi Organization and two International Organization working to establish the SRHR rights of the young people in Bangladesh .The Unite For Body Rights (UBR) Program in Bangladesh has successfully focused on improving SRHR Knowledge and access to services, by providing comprehensive sexuality Education (CSE) in and out of School, improving health provider`s capacity to provide YFSRH services, and working with communities to create a more supportive environment in which young people can exercise their SRH rights.it is the dream of the UBR programme to have a fully capacitated SRHR Alliance that works towards achieving good SRH for young people. This is a very special project to work with innovation and commitment towards protection of the SRHR of young people in Bangladesh .UBR Alliance-Bangladesh would like to have services from the potential persons who want to grow in a Rights focused environment and have passion for achievement for its UBRProject-2(2016-2019) objectives.
  • Position Purpose:
  • S/He needs to take charge of the Financial Management Systems including supervision of Store & procurement and ensure establishment of sound, transparent and sustainable accounting systems and processes. The ideal candidate should thrive in a competitive, performance driven culture that is aligned with the mission of UBR Bangladesh Alliance. The candidate should have a proven track record at overcoming challenges, documenting achievements, and quantifying results. Keeping track of all kinds of financial activities in the organization including periodic reporting with confidence and maintain confidentiality of financial issues.
Job Description / Responsibility
  • Job Responsibility:
  • Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing the necessary background papers.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting analyzing, and summarizing account information
  • Prepare the necessary documents for procuring goods and services
  • Prepare the supporting documents for the procurement committee
  • Perform the day to day administrative work for the UBR Alliance Secretariat
  • Supervise the tasks of the other support staff of the UBR Alliance Secretariat
  • Be responsible for the files and records of the UBR Alliance Secretariat
  • Maintain the records of the IEC material of the UBR Alliance Secretariat
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Position Specific:
  • Complexity of thinking needed.
  • Ability to analyze data, situations of problems, evaluated possible courses of action and chooses.
  • Take reasoned decisions, usually based on policy, established process, precedents,or common sense.
  • Decision mostly about work processes-How to do rather that what to do.
  • Information Technology Skills needed
  • Proficiency to use standard software at an advanced level, typically this would include minor programming using macros, mail merge, customized reports, developing audio, visual presentations, etc. with occasional assistance.
  • Advanced skills in windows operating system, LAN and internet.
  • Complex use of simple systems.
  • Other Requirements:
  • The job holder should be a skilled, responsible, discreet, organized, analytical, proactive and motivated professional with a good common sense, an ample service attitude and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure keeping focus on the objectives.
  • Good communication, good organizational and time management skills with customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with interruptions, to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work with different nationalities and as a member of a multidisciplinary and diverse work team

Masters with in Finance/ Accounting/ MBA/ Administration is eligible.
Experience Requirements
  • 5 to 6 year(s)
Job Requirements
  • About 5-6 years of experience in National and/or International NGOs in the field of Finance, Administration/Accounts, Audit etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of government rules and regulations regarding non-profit organizations/social sector,
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Fixed Assets and Inventory Management. Computerized Systems in the field of Financial Management, Procurement Processes.
  • Strong Monitoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise.
  • Abilities/Skills:
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
  • Energetic, flexible, Collaborative and proactive, a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives.
  • Exceptional written,oral,interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with PMT (Program management team),Alliances SC and Staff
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution Skills
  • Social and inter-personal skills(Ability to co-operate and /or network with partners and colleagues)
  • Leadership and negotiation skills with high levels of supervisory and management experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken Bangla and English
  • Personal Competencies:
  • Rights-based, gender -sensitive and pro-choice perspective, sensitive to cross-cutting issues such as gender, crossculture, race and religion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as inteams and under pressure
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Willingness to travel across and out of country as required

Salary Range
Salary: BDT 40,000/-(Consolidated)
Other Benefits
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; there are provisions for Annual Performance increment, festival bonuses and shared transport facility for the position holder in the project.
