Job Description / Responsibility
  • The position is based in any Upazilla of Sylhet.
  • The Upazilla Project Coordinator is Operational Head of Suchana-RDRS at Upazilla level and responsible for overseeing and coordinating Suchana operations and providing support to activities that are conducted in the Upazilla/Union Level. S/he will be responsible for helping assure achievement of union-level project implementation objectives, activities and targeted results for the Upazilla for which he/she is responsible. The Upazilla Project Coordinator will also play a lead role in managing communications and developing productive relationships between Suchana and partner staffs, local government officials, communities and beneficiaries, and other donors and projects operating in the Upazilla. S/he will lead the effort to ensure full collaboration of the technical partners i.e. HKI, WF, IDE and implementing partners i.e. FIVDB and CNRS that Suchana works with. Major job responsibilities are as follows:
  • Facilitate liaison and overall communication and coordination among centrally based Suchana technical specialists providing support to the four pillars of the project, and partners with staff based in the office;
  • Facilitate, organize and moderate trainings;
  • Provide technical leadership for work planning and setting of project targets, in an integrated and coherent manner;
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting of progress in project implementation and achievement of targeted results;
  • Ensure quality control and timely submission of all deliverables for Upazilla- level project activities;
  • Coordinate and supervise communication activities in the field level;
  • Maintain linkage and functional relationship with Upazilla administration and lined agencies;
  • Build and maintain functional relationship with private service providers;
  • Provide support in all gender sensitive issues to the staff;
  • Ensure the efficient operation and delivery of office support-systems and services (e.g., office facilities, IT, transportation, etc.) required to conduct all Suchana activities executed in the Upazilla/Union level;
  • Responsible for coordination and work closely with employer’s financial management team to ensure timely financial and administrative support;
  • Assure compliance with procurement, accounting, documentation and reporting according to Suchana/organizational policies and procedures;
  • Provide guidence to all staff based in the region, and ensure effective coordination and collaboration with other partner-hired staff based in that region;
  • Any other job as assigned.

Masters in any discipline (Health/ Nutrition/ Agriculture will be preferred)

  • Age At most 40 year(s)
  • At least 5 years experience in the relevant field of which 2 years in managerial level.
  • S/he should have knowledge in overall program designing, implementation including staff management and development, financial management, budget preparation, donor reporting, preparing training modules, designing and conducting training, workshop/seminars and experience in monitoring and reporting.
  • Sound knowledge on Good Governance and Social Development issues.
  • S/he should have knowledge in overall program designing, implementation including staff management and development, financial management, budget preparation, donor reporting, preparing training modules, designing and conducting training, workshop/seminars and experience in monitoring and reporting.
  • Sound knowledge on Good Governance and Social Development issues.
  • The candidate should have clear understanding of food & nutrition governance in general and F&NS policy and practice in particular;
  • Must have knowledge of marginalized and disadvantaged people, rights based approach to development and skills in advocacy are a prerequisite;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla language;
  • Proven analytical abilities, good documentation skills;
  • Proven leadership quality to facilitate the target groups to protect and promote indigenous, eco-friendly farm practices and farmer interests;
  • Experience in managing EU projects, procurement, reporting, finance, visibility, external audits will be an added advantage;
  • Strong decision making ability and motivational skills especially with rural communities;
  • Contribute constructively to a working environment based on mutual respect, trust and commitment;
  • Reporting and documentation skills;
  • Age may be relaxed for deserving candidates.
